Unifilter on F800GS

There seems to be very little said about using these on the 800's, but on smaller dirt-bikes everyone fits them....is there a reason for this? To me it seems like a no-brainer going to a washable filter element.

Are they available in SA for the older 800's ? ( Sprocketsport website .....R700 )
