Race Dog
Anyone ever had any experience with this?
Been looking for a manner in which to make a mould for a tailpiece from a bike of mine - the part is discontinued, and used examples are unobtanium. I've had a couple of requests from people with the same bike as to whether I will let them make a mould from mine. There's usually only one party at risk in those scenarios, so I have declined. Always feel like a little bit of a do*s when doing so......
I thought about 3d scanning and then printing, but the size falls just outside what one could do on a home setup, and the companies that do larger bits aren't interested in once off's.
Then - chatting to a friend that did RC car racing back in the day - they made their own vacuum tables / boxes, and moulded / formed shapes that way. The Youtube has quite a few clips on DIY, and it definitely looks viable. Before I put too much effort into building a vacuum box (not overly complicated) - would love to hear if anyone has dabbled with this before, and what their results were like.
Any input appreciated.
