On saturday morning MadMat informs me we are heading back up that mountain to look for his bag he lost the previous day attempting the rear entry, so off we go, up top I park off and chill and he hikes right down the Steytleville side  and amazingly enough returns with his lost bag!!
Then we decided to tackle the single track right to the tower....lotsa fun!

Unfortunately due to my deranged mental state at the time I kept forgetting to stop the gopro from recording so I have about an hours footage of sky as my helmet rests on my bike while we push and pull bikes up the hill, end result is the battery died about half way up so that is all the footage I have,  :'(
Murphy hows yours looking?

Mine died at the bottom of the mountain already - need to invest in a remote control so that it is easier and better to control .  :help:

the audio must be a gas. ..

Is this the route that runs directly south from Steytlerville in to Baviaans, entering Baviaans close to the police station?
Do one need to get permission from the farmer to do the route?
Have you guys got the route on gps?
Would like to do it at years end. :thumleft:

Going to be tough! if you are fit and have the time its doable, walk each section first to clear the path of loose rocks and to plan your line properly.

Thanks Jules, that is the kind of riding we looking for.

moer it! no planning. ;D balls I tell you thats all. let us know when we will come watch.

Hey Jules your bike parked on that slope reminds me of those hectic inclines - next time we will know which line to pick and which corners we need to take wide . I heard Dirty XT mention 61deg slope in some places - what were we thinking??  :dontknow:

Hehe looking at that pic of my bike on its side stand I remember thinking "this is a flatter piece of hill I can park my bike on"

guys, I have HUGE respect for what you attempted, and conquerred, but a 61deg slope is not doable?

might not be exact but tell me that is not above 45 degrees and getting close to 50-60 degrees?
