While I'm still busy designing/planning the sidecar thing, I'm building something I've been planning for while. Remember that trike I built a while ago? There was 2 spare wheels left over and so I put them down on a piece of paper and made some scribbles.
Get out the 16mm tube and cut a few 1m length pieces. Gooi them in the bender.
And make like such
To give me a stack of these
Weld a couple together like this
And then into the roller
Check the fit
Make the other side and check it as well
It will need a gusset
Up close
Cut up an old bike to get the pedal thingy and build a jig to hold everything in place
Tack it all together like this
Repeat a few of the previous steps and tack the last 4 pieces in place and it looks like this
Gooi a wheel on it
Let's check the geometry
So far I have put in less than 10 hours of beer drinking/fabrication and I still have to make the triple tees, front fork and handles, add the seat post, get it powder coated and then assemble it.
Piep can't wait for her new lowrider. Check the sketch I found on her desk.
