When I was shopping for a bike, I wasn't sure what I wanted. I wasn't even sure I wanted a DS bike in fact... so the field was wide open, and I considered ALL of the following bikes:
Ducati Monster 620 Dark, Kawasaki ER6-N, Versys and their 900cc Cruiser (can't remember the name, Vulcan?), Triumph Bonney, Thruxton, Scrambler and America, Yamaha GS600 or GX600 or whatever (the Yammie competition for the ER6-N), Honda Transalp, KTM 640 Adventure and BMW F650GS and Dakar. and at the last minute the BMW F800S.
I eventually settled on the Dakar, but sometimes I still wonder what it would have been like with some of those, particularly the Triumphs... I also sometimes wish I'd bought the KTM, but I simply couldn't afford it (at the time it was 10k more than the Dakar, and my budget had already stretched)
So, what was on your shopping list when you bought your boney?
