Last year I bought a 30year Anniversary GS 1200 from ACME for a good price.
The rebuild can be checked out here.

During the rebuild, we found out the the back plastic petrol tank brackets have broken off, obviously during the crash. Mark Dickenson glued and plastic welded these back into place. But it broke off soon after. I then stripped the bike and also glued them back on.
So I am planning my Karoo trip for next week, and as a precautionary measure, I double check everything on the bike for good measure and fokkit would you believe it cause it's true. The bliksems broke off again. And this time, there is no glueing them back on.....
So "Boer Maak 'n Plan"
I had a 1200GSA tank and side Panels because my friend Carrots can't handle his liquor. He graciously organised BMW to deliver the stuff to me in Centurion. (Shot Hentie! :thumleft
So how difficult would it be to convert a GS1200 to a GSA1200. Well not that easy.
Off to Kurt on Saturday to see if he can help me out. Then it's off to ACME to get the needed extras.
So Before Shots:
Stripping the bike and giving it a proper clean and service on Thursday Night.
