Loaded my KLR and my son's KDX200 on the back of my friend's bakkie and we drove out from Grabouw to Dassiesfontein Farm Store. Friend went ahead of us on his bike. Reason for the complicated mode of travel was that my son is 13 so neither he nor his bike are road legal. We only spent about an hour riding around the grondpaaie in the area as it was my son's first outing with the ou ballies.

My tjommie het voor gery, dan die laaitie en ek het die agterhoede opgemaak. Toe ry die twee voorste bliksems amper vir my weg! Was lekker om te sien hoe my outjie ry: gemaklik, kies sy lyne mooi en nie skaam om Kermit se oor te draai nie. Maar altyd binne beheer en veilig.

Daar is groot wind-generators in die omgewing so die het ons ook gaan besigtig. Het nie fotos geneem nie, maar was 'n dag vir my geskiedenis boek.

Chopper rode through there in real “balls to the wall” fashion. Very lucky to still have a 990, it nearly ended up downstream in the Kruger Park.  I struggled to walk through it

Bought a farm near Rosendal 

What a great...if muddy Sunday ride.

...then came up over a blind rise a bit fast and found myself facing this ...

...which  resulted in a tankslapper of note and the purchase of a sizeable plot of eastern Freestate real estate on the other side of the road.

Almost as big as the divot I left 20m out from the 8th at the Golf & Trout estate yesterday
