A really wet road from Henley On Klip to The Val via Grootvlei and surrounds.Taking it easy as my wrist is still weak from surgery a while back.

Quick gravel travel in the morning to get home in time for the F1 to start

Is that the newer model Bushlander [member=26157]stcomza[/member]? Looks like it with the new visuals and rear disk.  Look "stealthy" good for sneaking up on stock thieves at night.

[member=12730]Dorsland[/member] the previous owner had it resprayed (plastics, the frame was powder coated) and added their own decals. They fitted new Big Boy rims and added the rear disc brake as well. The only information I have is that it worked on farms in the Upington district. Not too sure about thieves, but I've been able to get very close to cows, sheep, and even Lamas before they looked up and instantly took a disliking to me

Those are a few nice mods the previous owner made.  The idea though, is that you herd the livestock with the bike, not them herding you. :lol8:

Went out on the Abrahamskraal road and environs today... dit is nat in die lande!

Wateris still streaming off the fields and crossing the roads in many places. Must have been fun during the storm we had yesterday.

Early morning, overcast, rain expected.... but it remained dry!
A few of us went out on 500's, the ideal bike for some fun out in the bushveld  :thumleft:
The country was still soaking wet from last night's rainstorm hence zero dust, and the sand (there where there was no mud lol) was awesome to ride on / slide in.
The Apiesrivier was flowing strong (see pic).
Some new tracks were tried to avoid the known-muddy one's, and here & there serious puddles (see pic below, ~100m long!) were encountered.
Several refreshment stops during the ~7 hr ride, and we ended with breakfast lunch almost-dinner because we were past peckish already.  :p
On a closed private deserted & overseas road one of us (definitely not me, I wish!) pulled a few long wheelies to entertain the locals having a party somewhere, they went ballistic!  :lol8:  :thumleft:

Yesterday went down to Cape Point, but only got as far as the gate.  R360 per person to enter??? That's 18 quid!  Is the government using the park to pay off the national debt?  Anyway, carried on round through Scarborough where we had lunch.  Lovely spot, good coffee, many cheerful hippies.  Stunning coastline and a nice trundle over Chapmans Peak and back through tarty Camps Bay to finish our trip.  Got the bike washed (three very enthusiastic guys, much soap)  in less than lovely Woodstock in readiness to take it down to Econo Trans this afternoon to be shipped home into the teeth of the Scottish winter. :sad6:

We fly out Sunday, can't wait to see our daughters, one of whom is coming from Sydney for Xmas.  So it's 'bye (for now) South Africa (and Namibia), it has been a BLAST!

Had to go drop a shock at Superfoxi this morning. So I decided to take the 125 and make it a scenic drive along the beach.

Wie van julle manne was ook deur hulle skool loopbaan by die plek gewees?  Gewoonlik mos in St5 (graad 7).
