Beautiful weather recently, so a wee trip over to the west coast yesterday - picnic on the pebble beach at Ardmair watching paddleboarding dogs.

Quick comfort break at Knockan Crag looking over to the area known as Assynt and the distinctive shape of Stac Pollaidh in the distance. 3000 million year old rocks carved to bits by the ice ages. From there it was north again to Ledmore before taking the single track road across country to Rosehall and Bonar Bridge.

Took the ferry from Nigg to Cromarty on the Black Isle to avoid the boring A9. Plenty going on in the firth. Unfortunately running too late to pick up a few beers from the Cromarty brewery (again). Must get my act together, it's excellent stuff.

Just room on the ferry for me and a camper van.

Mt Gilboa above Karkloof Nature reserve with my son on his first adventure ride, came back via Greytown, back of Albert Falls Dam, and then over into Cascades area of Pmb, then home to Hilton
