Okay, so I need some help deciding on a bike.
I currently own a 2007 BMW R1200GS. I've ridden a 2011 BMW F800GS twice in the last two weeks and really enjoyed it.
The question is now, keep the R1200GS or get a new F800GS?
I'm 1.74m tall & 68kg's so the F800GS is a lot easier to ride - especially two up.
I also use my bike on a daily basis to work and back so the F800GS will be much lighter on fuel. The fact that it's brand new with a 2 year unlimited km warranty & 3 year roadside assistance is also very appealing.
Some of my concerns:
1. Chain vs shaft drive - a lot of PT & mess
2. Brakes although very good on the F800GS, not as good as partially integrated on R1200GS
3. No Telelever
Pro's:
1. Weight - approximately 20kg's lighter
2. Fuel consumption
3. Warranty
4. Similar performance to my 74kw R1200GS SOHC
So please guys, some advise would be greatly appreciated.
Bike will be used on daily basis in town. Occasional breakfast run & weekend away.
