I had noticed a high pitched whistle sound coming from my bike after i have been riding in hot weather ,and it continued for a while after i switched the bike off. Obviously i did not hear it while riding. I soon discovered the sound was coming from the fuel cap, So i opened it and released it slowly , there was a very big sucking or blowing sound released .. I read on the ADV forum by chance chaps are experiencing this. And fuel gets blown out the cap when opened, Spraying all over and into your face. A chap showed how to do a flapendectamy. Spelling . I remember having done it on my 950. Easy mod to do . Remove the small white plastic valves. and replace the cap. Just watch out for the latch spring how it goes.
