I have seen several posts on the variations of steering damper - have you guys considered the WILBERS!!!
* ADvantages are is that they work like a steering damper should - 22 click adjustment
* Out of the way, so you don't have to worry about not being able to attach a handle bar bag, Handle bar raisers, etc etc.
* Really effective in deep sand and mud (I have tested it!)
* Not troublesome mounting brackets that sometimes break (had that too)
* Guaranteed and backed up by BLING KING Motorcycles!
