Part 1
It was a last minute decision to go to the 2009 bash, the long straight Karoo boring gravel roads still etched in my mind since my last trip in March through there but wait I have business in Douglas to finalize I will tar it up to Douglas and shorten the trip with speed. This is a good plan. 8)
Thursday arrived and I was on my way and while having a water break in Cookhouse Bud500 stopped for a water break a great guy from East London who only tells you where the fish are after we have packed up camp. :
This ride report will mainly be photos so enjoy especially any South African living outside our borders. >
Bud500s machine the only bike I saw up to Douglas.
The confluence Vaal and Gariep join up.
Reminds me of the okavango river in certain ways.
I believe I missed a pair of dogs by 15 minutes at this restaurant.
And so Friday was upon me and I arrived in the Boegoeberg area early and decided to get some photos from across the dam at our camp site and this is where the fun begun, after taking a few photos I told my GPS to take me to the campsite well I have no idea what happened but I saw an extra 80 plus KMs and finally found a deserted asbestos mining town and not long after that bumped into ChrisL and followed them back to camp.
Few more area photos.
Sharkzas playground. >
Campsite on other side.
Red beautiful red, where’s the Orange (river).
