Hi Everyone,
A few of the wild dogs members have been chatting to me regarding riding at Tussen Koppies in the South of Johannesburg.
So we thought we would do a little cross forum ride with the boys from Moto101. We ride there often and know the tracks very well so we will essentially be guiding the ride for WD members and of course some of the newer Moto101 members. I spoke with KiLRoy and he agreed it would be a good idea.
The Tussen Koppies Hills have been reduced fairly substantially since the quarry was closed down, but there is still some lekker riding to be done there with plenty of action to keep you on your toes. Number dependent, we may split the groups up so that we don't have any bottlenecks on the day.
In terms of the type of terrain, there are nice big rocky climbs and descents, nothing too terrible, but it is an amazing area to ride in.
What we will no doubt do for the WD plastics boys is take you out from the TK area down to the Engen @ Grasmere and then out to the other Koppies. All in all we will cover about 80kms for the day.
In terms of the bikes you should bring along. We would say plastics only due to the terrain, but if you know what you are doing in tech terrain the smaller Dualies can be ridden up most of the climbs etc.
PLEASE NOTE:
When you arrive at Country Pizza, Please DO NOT start your bikes and rev the living hell out of them or pull wheelies up the road etc. etc. The residents complain a lot about bikers so please try not Pee them off. That also goes for when we return to country pizza.
The plan of action is as follows:
Meet at Country Pizza at 08:00. Be on the bikes by 08:30. We will ride into the hills and play around for a quite a while. Once we have had our fun, we will make our way back to Country Pizza.
Date: 5th July 2014
Time: 08:00 Arrive, Clutch out at 08:30
Venue: Country Pizza - please see the attached map
Guide: BigMikeKTM and Mark250GP
Cost: This one is on us. Beers, Cooldrinks and Food are for your own account
here are some pics from the last ride :thumleft:
