Hi there PLUTO the noob here ...
If you got a trials bike, or know a mate who has one, then why not come ride this Sunday at Zonnebloem School in Hill Road, Woodstock?  Ride starts at 10am.  Typically there are 8 sections laid out, with three different routes on each section; clubman (easy), expert (tricky) and master (tiger line!).
You all do the first lap of 8 sections together, as in, everyone walks each section, then individually rides it.  You mark yourself - each foot dab is one point; a stall, or crash is a 5.  Person with the lowest score wins.
There is no MSA licence or admin required - you just pitch with your trials bike, pay R50, sign the indemnity and off you go.
To give an example of what to expect ... on clubman line the wall you would be expected to ride up would be just on knee height; expert - up to maybe waist height, master - chest height.
No problem if you don't have a trials bike - come watch.  The oaks will be riding from 10am to about 1pm.  Entrance free for spectators
