I've had this problem for a few weeks now that I cannot seem to solve.

It started with a short 20km trip.  After 10km, the bike just died.  Tried starting it and after about 10 swings and a bit of throttle twisting it started.  Rode for 200m and the bike died again and so it carried on for the next 10km.  Since then, it goes for 100m and it vreks.  It feels like the ignition is turned suddenly turned off, it does not stutter or anything like that.  Then, after a few twists of the throttle it goes again.  If I idle the bike from cold, it will die after a few seconds, but this does not happen every time, sometime it can idle for a few minutes, but if I throttle it, it will die in a few meters/seconds.

So far I have removed the carb(twice).  There is no hole(leaks) in the diaphragm and the float seems to go up and down normally.  I have removed the main jet and nothing suspicious.  I have not completely disassembled the carb, just the top and bottom covers to check diaphragm, float and main jet.

I have fiddled with the ignition wires, when it runs and it does not die, same with the CDI wires.

I have checked the sparkplug and fiddled with the coil wire and all seems good there.

W.T.F could be the problem?  I still feel it is somehow a carb issue...

Sidenote : I did have a small off on tar, but road the bike for another 400km without hassles.  After that trip it stood for 3 weeks and it was misting quite bad after I started it, but that calmed down.  It was after 15kms that it started giving issues.
