Yamaha Helderberg Eendekuil Ride (24 August 2013)

The road was not totally wet & full of snot all the way. There however quite a few sections that had quite a few serious potholes....which obviously caused just too much "shake, rattle & roll" for Gwild's bike...... :eek7: :lol8:

As we were riding along....I all of a sudden see Gwild's "main Zorst Clamp" pop right off & almost rode right over the thing. I lay on my hooter.....but Eish....Gwild was obviously enjoying the ride so much...that he heard nothing & merrily continued to ride on. :ricky: :imaposer: :imaposer: :imaposer:

After briefly stopping to pick up his "spare parts"....I gave chase again to try catch up with him before his entire Zorst fell right off.

Once I finally managed to catch Gwild & inform him that his bike was falling to pieces.....we qhickly assed the damage & did a quick fix with a few cable ties (Frikking Awesome invention :thumleft:)

JUSt BTW.... I have it recorded on video....where Gwild admitted to the fact that this incident was probably caused by his Dakar feeling a little "left out & forgotten" as of late.....as Gwild has been spending far too much time on his plastic bike & this was his Dakar's way of getting him back for all the neglect.

I will add that Gwild did however apologise to the Dakar & promised (on video) that he would ride her more often. :pot: :lol8: :lol8: :lol8:

Once we met up with the guys...Andy got his "box of tricks" out of his bag & did a quick repair job to get the Zorst Bracket more secured.

Few shots I took while the repair was being done. Also just had to include the proudly displayed "Yamaha Support Team" Sticker on my GS's swing arm :pot: :lol8: :lol8:

Couple of random shots along the road we travelled towards Moorreesburg.

Had a little "Flash Back" on that 3rd photo as I passed by the wash-out along side the road......  I seriously don't like those things ;) ;D the rest of the road....was pretty nice, with the odd little puddle of water & a bit of slippery Snot along the way. :ricky: :thumleft: :thumleft:

Dunce & I were having a really Gr8 time around some of these corners & through the puddles. I was trying to stay as close to him as possible in order to get some nice footage....but just could not seem to keep up quite enough with that Katoom. :pot: :lol8: :lol8:

Once we stopped here @ the half way mark to Moorreesburg......Andy asked me where my "Orange Lens Cover" was..... & then I discovered that riding behind a KTM on a GS is not such a good thing....as that 18" rear wheel kicks up a hell of a lot more than just sand..... >:D :pot: :imaposer: :imaposer: :imaposer:

Well @ least I know that having a headlight cover in front of your light....definitely does do it's job to protect your headlight ;) :thumleft: :thumleft: Nothing that a new piece of Perspex form Maizeys cant sort out. :lol8: :lol8:

I'm not sure about the other guys.....but something I figured out....is that momentum & a bit of luck.... is what got me through on most of those "Snotty" sections. Mud sure is a bastard.

Right....I'm off to work now. Duty calls. Will to carry on with posting a bit more later on. ;) ;D
