Good news for Tenere owners!!! Following on from the previous post with regard to the standard paper air filter in the Tenere, and the interim "fix" that was introduced by Yamaha Distributors South Africa, I can now confirm on behalf of YDSA, that a shipment of aftermarket dual stage filters is on it's way to our shores, ordered by YDSA on behalf of all Tenere owners out there.
Within the next two weeks or so, Tenere owners should expect a call from their Yamaha dealer requesting them to come in and get the new air filter and air box cover fitted to their bike - at no cost and hopefully minimal inconvenience to yourselves.
The replacement filter rectifies the previously experienced problem of the original filter not coping with the dusty conditions in SA, and the replacement air box cover provides are far more effective seal against the air filter face and onto the air box.
IF YOU DON'T HEAR FROM YOUR DEALER IN DUE COURSE, THEN PLEASE CONTACT THEM DIRECTLY IN ORDER TO ENSURE THAT NO TENERE OWNER SOMEHOW MANAGES TO "SLIP THROUGH THE CRACKS", so to speak.
