We are planning a trip as follows: (Probably in September)
Meet In Clarens and sleep first night in Zastron
From Zastron get on R726 towards Barkley East. (35km)
Shortly after crossing the Orange River turn left on the first gravel road.
For next 40km on gravel until you get to the main road to the Lesotho Border = Telebrug
Following the Lesotho border (RSA side) to Upper Tele (R393)
Pass on to and over Lundin’s Nek pass towards Wartrail. (Telebrug to Wartrail = 56km)
Find the road to Tiffendel Ski resort, (26 km)and
From Tiffendel there should be a road/track to Rhodes. (20km)
Take the R396 towards Elands Heights, passing over Naudesnek pass, onto Maclear.
Maclear is the second night sleepover, after 280km riding for the day.
From Maclear go towards Ugie (tarmac). (25km)
Just outside Ugie turn right onto Bastervoetpad road.
Follow Bastervoetpad until meeting theR393 (25km)
Turn right onto the R393 and onto Moshesh’s Ford.(Belmore) (43km)
Take the road to Barkley East (33km)
Total Gravel km for the day = 126km
Then head on towards Zastron via Lady Grey (183km tarmac)
Total Travelling for day three = 309km
Third night sleepover in Zastron and then on the fourth day back to our homes.
Any advice would be appreciated regarding the chosen roads
