That German expert rebuild XT 600 Tenere hmmm
Why did the shock fall apart, the clutch basket was notchy and then he replaced it, sounds like I opened the motor it looked ok so I closed it again, stuck an endoscope down the spark plug all ok in there, it is all rebuilt sir/madam nudge nudge wink wink know what I mean.
Dunno maybe I misunderstood things

Two ways to lower suspension
Forks pushed up in the triples an longer dogbones fitted it lowers the bike but does not affect suspension travel as long as nothing touches
Internal changes to forks and shock but this reduces suspension travel.

First thing I thought when she was building the new bike was why didn't she put on modern shocks and forks if she plans on traveling around the world . Surely those old rebuilt mattress springs were done .

Steel gear shift levers, just bend them back in position (y) Aluminium one might have snapped

Perhaps you misunderstood as you didn't watch the very first episode?

That one looks like it is made from very thin, soft cheese. Bending it by getting stuck on something at walking pace?

A proper aluminium one would not have bent to begin with. That one looks worse than the stock one from a DR200.

I can confirm it's not cheese, I'd rather bend a shift lever than a shift shaft :p

Nothing wrong with the shocks
My point was she said in the beginning that she bought the bike fully rebuilt and requires some final tweaks to suite her needs.
Now maybe my understanding of fully rebuilt is not the same, in my view a full rebuild includes following
Strip bike down to the bare frame inspect it for cracks and where needed strengthen the frame repaint the whole frame or powdercoat it.
Engine tear down and replace all worn components including full set of new bearings and seals
Fit engine into frame rebuild replacing any corroded/worn parts and frame fixings and rewire the bike
Wheels check spokes remove any corrosion or replace parts that are corroded/worn new bearings and seals check wheels are true
Suspension full service checking and replacing any corroded/worn parts re-valve for intended purpose
I am a techie and love the more technical detail to see what they have done, If you watched the first four episodes
When we talk about final tweaks it is things like ergonomics getting the right spring rates tweaking it for it's final intended purpose

She arrived there is all sorts of redundancies built in looks the bees knees at a later stage they start tearing into the engine replacing the clutch and various other parts. And I am wondering wtf should that not have been done in the engine rebuild.
Including a suspension rebuild where the shock had seen better days the bump stop was completely worn.
Maybe they/she decided to hold off on the suspension work till she was there to ensure it was done according to her needs but at the last moment they swap out the fork springs again

I did she explained her reasonings in the car as she drove to Germany, she said she bought the bike the guy have been working on it since January but she also said there are some final tweaks required. When you get to final tweaks it is ergonomics suspension not replacing a worn clutch basket
