2011-2012 EFI KTM fuel filter fix (also for Husaberg)

Not sure if any WDs have had problems with the new EFI KTMs yet. There is a recall on the (black) 10 micron fuel filter that is in-line just before the injector. I checked mine today and it was full of junk. The fix is to replace with a (grey) 20 micron filter which I am trying to source now...

CDI help needed - crackling noise

My KTM 640 has a crackling noise from the back near the battery when the ignition is turned on. I used my stethoscope to work out it is the CDI crackling. It sounds like a little man is in there with a 12v arc welder. Would the logical assumption be the CDI has broken components or bad solder...

A quick RR from the Dubai Desert

Due to the warmer temps at the moment we are doing quick 2.5 hour rides of about 90kms. We are leaving approx 4:30pm, getting back to the cars and a cool drink by 7:00 or so. The heat dries out the sand and makes it very soft, so along with the high ambient temps, it makes the engines work...

Keihin EFI programming - anyone done it yet?

It seems that the Keihin EFI system is being used on virtually all of the plastic bikes nowadays, and some of the bigger bikes. Has anyone actually bought a tool that connects to the computer and played around with it? I downloaded the KTM program that is to be used with the hard parts...
