Before I start scratching around & cause more damage ... what's your opinion:

  • I think this started after some work that I had done, which may have involved removing the front wheel
  • There is a very faint "cluck" sound when front wheel is turning, per rotation ... but doesn't happen when its on the center stand
  • Then one fine morning ... I heard a terrible screaming sound with speedo needle fluctuating wildly
  • Stopped to investigate ... could see anything, and once I got back on the bike riding the noise was gone
  • This happened at least 2 more times ... same MO
  • Both times it was in the morning ... but not winter

So with some time on my hand would like to "fix" this today.  Searching the interwebs, I found a reference on advrider, but no advise to "fix" it.  Then also a similar note on wilddogs by MellowJo (wilddog.net.za/forum/index.php?topic=118953.40)

Any experience with this phenomena?

Where do I start with a process of elimination?
