I have asked this question before , and it seemed to be a no option situation . But luck is on my side . My son just happens to be a KTM tech. and they have a special tool at the workshop to compress the coil spring in order to remove to lower locking tabs . From a damaged R shock he has the lower locking tabs , by swapping out the tabs we should be able to lower the shock by about 15mm . Yes a bit less travel , but I would be able to get my feet on the ground better and be a bit more stable when stopping :imaposer:.
This is a test run , will fit the shock back tonight and hope to achieve the drop . I do not do heavy off-road riding so a bit of ground clearance loss will be no big deal . I have already pulled the forks thru the triple clamps by 20 mm so with a drop on the back , I think it will be /could be just perfect .
will report back after I had a chance to do a test ride .
