2 Stroms to Parys unplanned

Me and a friend set off to ride some freestate towns from GP, all what we had in mind was setting off to Parys and there we would decide further, keeping the wet rainy conditions in mind we decided to stay clear of the gravel roads as we would not want unsuspected off's, so we stopped at Henly on Deck as can be seen in the pic's the water level of the Denneysville dam are very high and most of the spots  under underwater. We then sett off to Parys and enjoyed  a couple of fresh drinks at Jimmy Jaggers  then off to Orkney,  met a couple of friends at the Orkney Vaal and only returned to our guest overnight stay after 01h00 in the little town.

The next morning  the return trip home no rain or thunderstorms and it was nice and dry going back via Klerksdorp,Hartbeesfontein,Buffelsvallei,Klipplaatdrif,  at Ventersdorp we had a nice take away of pap&vleis  ,Derby,Magaliesburg, Hartbeespoort,,,,,something different for me to start the year as I am used to riding more dirt roads only.

Just a note, that is the Vaal Dam, not the Deneysville Dam.  :thumleft:

We were there just after 07h10 and waited till 07h30 to see if somebody would pitch to open the shop, but as it was the day after new year we suspect no one was working and set off to the dam....thanx for the info,,,next time will it definitely be. :thumleft:
