Really nice to have met up with you and Travel Gravel last night..... ;)

After much deliberation whether to do RR2 or RR3 I decided to do RR2 as RR3 was just "normal dirt roads" - after all this was supposed to be an adventure - as it turned out RR2 was not a disappointment.

As far as I know she's always barefoot. It was pretty cold up there but still no shoes....  ???

She actually drove a 4X4 backie up there with our coffee etc, but it was quite emabarrasing when her husband came cruising up the hill on the Suz, barefoot, jeans, 3 jerseys and no helmet..... :-[ :-[
But I understand his wife was part of the recce team, on the Suz, barefoot....those farmers are tough......
They live in a different world, a very lekker one. :thumleft:

Some more pics, taken by Ian from Durban of me riding the little 'sting in the tail' at the end of day 2.
When I got home I put up my tent up to dry it out as it was damp when packing up. My kids like it so much they have had a camp out in it for the last few day!
Before I went to the RR I started having thoughts like 'this is too expensive' and 'probably this will be my last'. Well all i can say now is that this event must be the highlight of the year for me and I will definitely do it for as long as I can.
Thanks Mike for an awesome event.

Hey, you know how scared I am of hills...  :eek7:

I wonder how our Pappegaaiberg climb compares to the infamous RR1 climb?

Now thats how to tackle an obstacle, standing up and on the gas, neat and tidy there Lance
