'98 XR 600 STRUGLING WITH IDLING

Hi all,

please help,

I am struggling with a Xr 600,

I have cleaned and checked the float level of the carb 5 times,
The inlet manifold checked with new o ring,
Cdi was opened and resolderd
Bike is serviced.

The bike starts ok-ish when its cold, then if it starts, it struggles to idle, then if you rev it and leave/turn the throttle forward the bike revs up like crazy.

the only way i get the revs down is to put it in gear and then let the motor labour a bit, then the idling comes down.

If it dies, you will kick ± 500 thousend times .(OK, not really, about an hour hour of kicking) then sometimes it still would not start, and then you can see a bit of smoke come out of the exhaust from all the kicking.

Any guru's out there.
