In Steytlerville. Nice ride along the Cockscomb road with a loop along the mountain. Cant post pics from my fone

That's right, cause we're all so tough.

It just seems bourbon does a great job of killing the pain after a day of falling down!

:sip: Definitely a trip to add to the list.  :thumleft:

And so another tough day in Africa dawns with the prospect of some great riding ahead... Grootrivierpoort and Baviaans with a braai at the end next to the lake at Doringkloof.

Well I suppose someone has to do it.  :ricky:

We did the side entry in October- set up camp in Doringkloof and set off travelling light to Kareedouw - lunch at Norma Jeans in Kareedouw and then the same route back to Doringkloof.
It is a round route of about 160 km and took pretty much a full day.
The bikes were 1150gs-950ktm and 650 x challenge.
How hard was it - well we knew we had the whole day to do it and there are a lot of gates to open and close and we did not rush it but still 160 km in a day tells the story.
For the bigger bikes momentum is your friend.

Hou vas. Moet nou eers uitwerk hoe om dit van my foon op my laptop te kry.

What a trip, as I always believed it would be. I am moer toe. The old body is bruised and I am definitely not fit enough for these trips anymore.

So lets start. The usual... why-don't-we-get-together-and-go-for-a-trip pic. Crab on the DR. Duks on the XT and me with the KLR. After this weekend I would know if the KLR is up toe some serious riding.

We have plenty of time to get to Steytlerville. I dislike riding the Cockscomb road and would rather do tar. Its 100km smooth fairly straight gravel highway. The problem... you want to go way to fast and its dangerous with lots of animals. Result if you check your speed, is you get bored.

But Crab says that along the way there is a nice little gravel loop toward s the Cockscomb he wants to do. OK then.

It is a nice road with some good scenery. Smoke break. Lekker when all three are smokers. No-one minds a stop. Like I said, we rustig.
