Flew out on short notice on Saturday ...which was a bit rude as I had invited a couple of Dogs over for a work session on RI's Purple Turtle.

First my bike's called a purple people eater and now this  :eek7:

I'm offended. I might be a turtle but my bike is a hooligan  :patch:

Thanks for everthing, Dogs, was huge fun; bike fully sorted and ready to ride  ;D

Ooooops ...Apologies Ri ...I meant The Purple Monster...and a monster it is.
Please dont be offended...you are certainly no turtle and Im not sure which one is the hooligan ...I suspect you and the purple hooligan are well matched.. :lol8:

For those of you who have not met Ri ....she is one gutsy , feisty gal...  and lots of fun :thumleft:

Right ...so back to the ride ...
So there I was humming along on the road to Port Alfred ...not a care in the world in sub arctic tempreture, thank God I have brought enough warm clothing  ...although I was still freezing my ass off .
I love that part of the world as the scenery is beautiful .I should have stopped for some pics but I think I was too cold to get off the bike, in hindsight if I had of stopped I would have probably avoided the disaster which was to follow.

More this evening

The ride report of the two day adventure is going to take two weeks  :lol8:

Ok ...so where was I ....Oh yes ...heading towards Port Alfred
I was getting a little worried,  as some evil looking storm clouds where building up to the east of me. I could just imagine howling winds and torrential rain for the rest of the trip ..not my favourite riding conditions. I was also starting to get really hungry as I had not eaten since the day before, and that was only one boerie roll. I was considering stopping for breakfast at Port Alfred but I thought it would be better to try and out run the foul weather. The baby Ten was really humming along ..what a machine.  :love4: I had decided to push through to Port Elizabeth and see what the weather was going to do. But eventually hunger got the better of me. Young Dylan at Hoylake Inn had highly recommended a farm stall just outside Port Elizabeth called Nanage . So with a growling stomach I pulled in ready to eat the first thing I could get my hands on. Once again ..I was not disappointed ...I must admit, I ate till I felt sick ..absolutely pigged out. The breakfast is a buffet of the worst kind  ...bacon , eggs , sausage , boerewors , mushrooms , tomatoes , and the best of all ...the most delicious rooster brood I have ever tasted...man I was in heaven. There were a lot of other bikers enjoying the breakfast and I delayed a bit longer than I wanted to chatting to the manne. Those Eastern Cape boys are a friendly bunch and I could have happily spent the rest of the day there. But the road was calling and the weather was looking ominous. I needed to push on.

Port Elizabeth came and went without incident and Jbay was in my sites. Petrol was getting a bit low so I decided to fill up at Jbay. I pulled off at the off ramp feeling very pleased with myself and stopped at the stop street ...was looking left and right ...and suddenly ...WHAM ...a flipping car ploughs into the back of me. :confused2: :confused2: I couldn't believe it ...Phuuuggggg ...no ....my beautiful blind date had been assaulted ...she was injured.

Whew ...reliving this makes me thirsty ...I need another whiskey ...be back later

Yes swaer you should rather come with me up in Africa, there at least they come for you from the front where at least you can see them even if it is at the last second.
