You are a very lucky lad Jup. You can never spend to much time with your kids

Sadly I know that now. When the two older ones grew up I allowed life, career and my own selfish pursuits, to interfere in the time I should have spent with them. It was also during my bike sleeper years. The little one has been growing up sinse I started biking again and ther-in lies her passion for it.

Now I can only try and make up for lost time, therefor that I had no hesitation yesterday to take the day off and go ride with them.

But they all turned out OK, thanks to them having a wonderful mother(and maybe because I was not thereto interfere  ).

They know how to abuse my kindness though.

"Dad, I would like this pair of earings etc, its only R400.00, and will look good if I wear it on the bike"

They know I'll say yes  :3some:

Thanks vir al die mooi woorde. Mens se kinders is baie spesiaal.

Ek sit nou die aand en luister hy verduidelik 'n 'Thirty Something' vrou al die redes hoekom mens nie kinders moet hê nie. Ek het haar maar so in stilte jammer gekry.  :'(

Nou moet ek net my seun van die computer af wegkry dat hy 'n trip saam my doen en als is reg. Lyk darem of hy saam my Old School Bash toe gaan, so dis 'n grote vir my  :thumleft:

Wat 'n lekker manier om met 'n man se kids te bond - my beurt sal kom, die taliban is net nog bieeeekie te klein.

That is fantastic. One day, when my girls are a bit older, I hope to be able to create memories like this with them.

I just need to get SWAMBO's permission :mwink: :mwink:

Lucky for us, Lyn and I have been biking together since we were youngsters, so she knows what it is about. Knowing the kids wanted to ride, there was no question that they would be taught from young,... that they could get the SENSE.

It still does not mean we don't get the Heebeegeebee's when they get on there bikes.  :eek7: But at least I get to teach them when still under my care and hopefully give them a good chance at survival. You have to cruelly realistic about it. It is dangerous and they must know it.

They know they will have an accident one day, and must be prepared to accept the consequences, before they get on a bike.

That does make a difference. My wife refuses to get on a bike, not even as pillion. It is sad as this is something that is really part of me.

We have an agreement that I wil lnot force our daughters to ride, and she will not force them not to ride. If they want to learn, when they are old enough, I will teach them and hopefully I will be able to get them to understand the responsibility and consequences that comes with the territory.

What is old enough........????? I still have not made up my mind about that yet. Time will tell though.
