Today I start with in mind the target to reach Cape Town

coffee stop

whta you can expect to find alond a big straight stretch in the middle of Klein Karoo ?  Amazing, a sexy shop

dinner

a little nap is necessary and I met some workers of the KOO: I eat their beans for 3 weeks. They get a salary around 900 euro a month ( 1200 US), 9 hours a day with a month of holidays

the factory

In CapeTown I’ve chosen the Capetown Backpaker Hostel cause ther’s a parking with surveillance

The address is 81 Church St. I’m coming from N2 and easily asking to some cop I reach Church St. After some minutes the 81: I’m very lucky. The building is a brand new and with the reception. I don’t see the ring for the hostel, but the receptionis opens the door and says “ Sir here ain’t hostel” Ok very simple: in CapeTown therìs Church St and New Church St: the hostel is in New. Look at the map 1 = Church St 2= New Church St

the receptionist is incredibly nice: she phone to the hostel and give to me signs to reach it

tonight luxury menù rice beans (KOO) and pilchards

after dinner I walk to Long St, that’s full of bar and clubs, but now is low season, so I rest a little in the lounge of a hostels where a DJ is playng some dark metal rock.

Today tour to Cape of Good Hope: on the map, in green my route

This place ia a natural Park...so you’ve got to pay the entry

la stradina costiera ( due corsie tendenti allo stretto stretto) è però spettacolare

historical building 1937

The stop in Simon Town was made to can see penguins, but parking the bike, for the second time in the morning the bike falls down: even without panels she is to heavy for my damaged arm.

the penguins

after I had reached Cape of Good Hope I notice a problem: is difficult with the gear lever change , especially get the neutral. Could be a big problem, cause to start the bike you’ve got to put neutral. No traffic, even without use the first gear I can drive, using a little bit more the clutch and starting with the 2nd gear. Not a lot of traffic.

muslim tourists

i can see the Cape of Good Hope down...I decide to risk another stop. With bare hands I find the neutral and I can start again. Just one stop to take some pics and after no more stops till Cape Town

In just 20 minutes I find again the neutral and so I can start again. I’ve got to come back to my hostel: motel prices here can kill me.
Ok two hours without use the first gear, always starting  with the 2nd but finally I find the big road that brings to Cape Town, but now I can’t stop the bike to read the map...dramtic situation...but

the sign of a bike shop...italian bike shop

it’s 30 past five but the owner comes out of the shops and understands my problem. It’s simple to solve it: with 2 pincers is enough to pull a little bit the gear lever. I tried before with hands, but was too risky to break the lever.

Back in the hostel I meet the Holly: no show tonight. The bricklayers are still working in the club. So the daughter of the Holli’s manager prepare some pasta: it’s ok

after dinner a walk to Long Street

I start to Gordon’s Bay...is hopeless try to call the Wonkey Donkey I give up

this time I’m able to bring back the bike to Craig’s home without damages

Now I’ve got to prepare my luggages: I can’t bring everything handly, so I decide to bring with me souvenir, electronics and some clothes and ship the rest. Adhesive tape and garbage bags are always helpfull

after 3 weeks the counter of the dry machine is still broken..to keep it close you have to use the chair

14 of july Thursday

End of my vacation and with the whole morning free I walk in Gordon’s Bay to find some little souvenir: generally I buy magnets

In the afternoon I’m at the airport..this is a geat souvenir, but a little bulky

who lost this little shoe ?

hellò to everyone I’m coming home with my handly luggage...others luggages will be lost in Milan..after one week I get them back.
