I don't know if anyone has done it this way before, but today when I decided to do the stand bypass, I wasn't too keen on hacking into my wiring. The stand has been giving me problems on these rough dirt roads we have here, and I had some spare time so I went for it. Since the switch is activated with a cable, all I did was unhook the cable from the lever at the switch side, so moving the sidestand won't activate the switch. I'll test it out for the next few days, but so far so good
While I was at it, I fabricated a clutch switch bypass along the same lines. Instead of cutting into the harness, I machined a small brass plate to fit in the recess where the actuator for the switch would be. This plate shorts all 3 contacts at the same time so I don't have to pull in the clutch in neutral, and I can start it in gear regardless of clutch position (useful when stalling in heavy traffic). I'll try and post up some peechas when I get a chance.
EDIT: more info added
