Looking very good guys :thumleft:

As you probably know Justin I also bought a 06 525 for 23k with the very best intentions of doing the 15" Amageza.
It had 160 hours on and is still brand new.

Unfortunately I hurt my right shoulder in March 2014 on a trip to the Waterberg where I flipped my SE.
Since then I have been nursing the shoulder hoping that it will come right in time for me to join KevinZA and his team Vets for change on  the Amageza.
It has not worked out.
I am undergoing a shoulder operation tomorrow and will be out of action for 4 to 6 weeks.
Hopefully in time to see you guys at the national bash end Sept at Gariep

In the meantime I will edge you guys on from my seat in front of the pc, avidly following the tracking.
Hopefully its not as big a mess as last year.
I will most definitely follow the build which you guys have pioneered

Expect me there next year! :thumleft:
Good Luck
Swifty out

What a Pod k@k. If I was the agent I would have replaced that part without cost, even if he had to foot the bill.

Well, at least all the members of this particular racing forum know what not to buy...  I will be getting a Leatt then.

Who distributes the Leatt brace at the most competitive price?

Dr Leatt himself...contact me for details...

I finished building another one of my teammates bikes yesterday - a brand new KTM 500 XC-W

"Navigation Tower" fitted - this is not mounted to headstock or handlebars but mounts to top triple clamp - super simple, light and very strong - designed by donovanwho

Headlight spaced forward to accomodate nav gear mounting and wiring

Marine fuse block fitted behind headlight with its own ON/OFF switch- power runs to this fuse block direct from battery with 30A fuse at battery - I have seen a few bikes die a fiery death from a dead short because they were not fused as close to the battery as possible

ICO trip meter (top left) and GPS cap repeater (top right) - each controlled by their own thumbswitches on handlebars

F2R electronic roadbook holder with toggle thumbswitch under left handlebar grip

Original KTM cluster mounted beneath roadbook

20 litre Acerbis KTM PowerParts  fuel tank - will give this bike a range of 350 km

Ceramic coated exhaust by Powerkote

Aluminium bash plate with inboard 2,5 litre water tank and toolbox - designed and built by donovanwho - he rides a new Husky FE501 hence the Husky logo cut into the bashplate

Seat widened, foam added and recovered by Nithrone

Suspension completely revalved and resprung front and rear by Superfoxi

PRO MOTO BILLET sidestand courtesy of Topbox from ADVENTURE RIDER

Tubliss fitted to both wheels - allows you to ride safely at 0,5 bar pressure for awesome traction and super easy and quick to fix punctures with a "snotwurm" plug

Gearing lengthened to 14:48

READY TO RALLY !!!

Looking Awesomley good Justin and team!  :thumleft:
I also bought a low mileage 525 with only 76 hours on it with the intention of doing this but quickly realised I just didn't have the time or money right now, so had to can the idea, so instead I will be watching you guys closely and enjoying the RR and shouting for you during the race! Looking forward to following the build-up and the race action.

Good Luck guys!  :thumleft: :thumleft: :thumleft:

Seems the 500 is picking up where the 525 left off. Seems a solid platform.

Yes boss

If you zoom in and look closely you will see it does have flush mount little rear indicators
And the bike is registered and licensed - disc is stuck on top of left hand fork leg - new numberplate to follow because rider keeps breaking them
