A great read Minxy. It's awesome to share in your experience - we were watching you guys on the tracker wondering how you were doing all alone out there.  Frustration levels must be bubbling when you know you're so close to the exit point.

P itty i wasn't there to share this day with you guys
Would have started a long way up the order in 18th or so and would have had less chaos on the tracks and more daylight.
To let the new guys start further back on a long day like this makes it even harder on them to survive the tougher days
First couple of days have traditionally been the tougher ones.

It was very frustrating for everyone. Many people lost a lot of time here, riding up and down trying to find which way to go. In my opinion it is very unprofessional to have mistakes of this severity in the roadbook, especially if you don't give people any gps waypoints to fall back on. Needles to say a lot of people did complain and they ended up cutting the special stage at that specific point.
The only positive thing that came from this is the fact that cutting the stage at that point meant I was still a part of the race.

It was a really tough day Eddie! I'm sure you would have enjoyed it though. And I agree, it is kinda cruel making the newbies start at the back haha :imaposer:

:headbang: :salut:
Lekker Minxy en Dirt Dogs
Hoop daar gaan nog n paar girls jou join volgende jaar :sip: :thumleft:
Was lekker om vir jou en Johan te ontmoet by Amageza :ricky:

Definitely a steering damper in your near future. It makes a massive difference to effort at speed on chewed up sand.

I'm sorry you had to get your first day rallying done in in such a way.

Minxy,
Firstly a huge congratulations on even making the decision! And for you to carry on after the first day shinanagies i take my hat off to you!
I saw you and briefly chatted when you excitedly said that you were still in the rallye at the day two bivvie! Sorry the rest of the race didnt pan out as expected.
I was also a newbie at Amageza this year and you couldnt have put the feelings of the build up then nerves at scurtineering better!
I can honestly say that i thought a number of times whilst at scurtineering what have i managed to get myself into? And then many times when it was dark and had been riding for over 10hrs i knew we are all crazy!

Hi Bravehaert

Weereens dankie vir jou en Jahan vir daai lift op stage 6
Geniet jou report . Hou so aan

. . . just caught up from the start . . .
:happy1:

Keep it coming!

Minxy, you are quite some girl doing this ****.
I wonder how much water you guys carry?
Matches belong in every emegency kit. A warm fire is all you need when you have to camp out there. Makes it a very romantic experience  ;D

Hei Louwrens, goed om weer van jou te hoor.  Ons maak plan om bier saam te drink een of ander tyd.

Gaan jy national bash toe of is jy nou arm?  Jy moet bietjie van daai foudies smous wat jy heeltyd geneem het dan sal jy baie geld maak

Huge respect for doing this. And thanks for taking to time to write all of this up. Very good read!!

Hehe! We are actually required to carry all kinds of survival stuff, like a lighter, compass, maps, medic kit etc. It helped me a lot, but more of that to come soon! Also, I carried two hydro packs, one with 3L pure water and another one with 1.5L of GI32 sport drink. As part of the rally rules you need to have an additional 2L water fixed to your bike, which I had in the bash plate.
