Honda are perfecting automatic gearboxes and a number of models through their range are available. This coupled with self balancing technology will eventually lead to handle bars that are merely resting places for your hands. Maybe just to keep them warm with heated grips. How far off are full autonomous motorcycles...

The technology is already there for cars so switching it to bikes is not to dramatic.
