Thought I would offer my experience to anyone else trying to install a Banshee or a Stebel Horn on a F650GS...

I had a bit of a struggle with the Banshee Horn system wiring on the Dakar.  Seems that the Dakar doesn't quite accommodate the initial Banshees that were launched.  Here is the thread if you are interested:

I had a hard time finding a suitable place to mount the horn on the Dakar.  Everyone else on the web mounted the horn on the crashbars, but I didn't like the idea of the horn being visible and also so exposed to the elements.  I then noticed that there is quite a nice cavity behind the clocks of the F650GS..

Here are some links to pictures of my eventual instalation:

First I've split the unit and cut off the flute part of the horn.  I got the copper fitting at the Gas Company in Centurion for R 15.00.  Had to modify it slightly to make it fit.  I have glue gunned the fitting into the horn and it is attached quite proper..

I then attached the cut off flute to the compressor with insulation tape.  This is to help avoid the compressor suck in unwanted stuff...

I then connected the compressor to the horn with a pipe (I got the pipe at a pet shop out of desparation, but if you can I would advise you get a sturdier pipe.  This one works, but is prone to forming kinks once installed due to its flimsy nature).  Both were then connected to the frame on which the clocks and headlight cluster is mounted on.  I have used multiple cable ties to properly secure the system.  I believe it would hold up to vibrations etc...

All tucked up neat and tight behind the clocks, away from water and dust..  Compressor can be seen to the left of the ignition and the horn to the right

If any of this fails in the future I will report back..
