Ben 10 on Ktm 1290

On 28 April 2023 the ben 10 was in sight. A long time bucket list must do. I had done 3 or 4 passes before, conditions and time never allowed to finnish all 10.

I looped Lady grey clockwise to Lady grey in the following order.

1. Jouberts pass
2. Otto du Plessis
3. Barkly
4. Bottel nek
5. Bastervoet
6. Naudes nek
7. TTT
8. Casrlislehoekspruit
9. Volunteershoek
10. Lundins Nek.

Quite a lengthy video but worth the watch if you planning on riding there.

but how did you find TTT? That bit had me tired on the 1190, otherwise this was a great ride. How long did you take? Any thoughts or things that especially stood out for you?

Hallo Molten,

Thanks for all the views. TTT was hectic, I was already fatigued and by stopping and opening/closing all those farm gates constantly breaks momentum... I had my only fall there on one of the most bassic sections...

TTT and bastervoet was the most technical and trickiest. One group turned around from bastervoet another at TTT. All details about the ride display at the end. I think about 9hours in total.

Each of the 10 passes are unique and special. They challeng your riding ability also mentally and physically. The views are spectacular. Feels like I'm far away on an adventure.

what tyres and tyre pressure did you run? Still tubeless?
what was fuel consumption roughly? The 1290 is actually frugal, helps a lot with stuff like this.

Super well done, thats a hard ride and you managed it just about faultlessly, and in wind like that its not all that much fun riding there either.

Thanks Molten! I kept an eye on the tpms, it keeps reading various numbers because of temperature, I dont know if altitude also plays a role?... It was between 2.1 and 2.3 front and rear. I think average consumption was 16km/L.

I managed 410km on a tank once, but thats freeway and cruise control on 130kmh. Very impressed with the 1290..

net n vraag vir interesantheid. Is die Ben Mcdhui pass nie meer deel van die challenge nie? Ek weet dit was laas toe ek gekyk het en ek het altyd aangeneem dis waar die challenge se naam begin het.

Daai landslides op Otto is crazy. Moes onlangs gebeur het want laas jaar Augustus was daar niks.
