I will finaly take the plung and buy a GPS soon. What I want is something robust, simple and that works. What I don't want are these fancy things that hook up to your cell phone, play music, make coffee, gives you the weather report and sends you off on some tangent because of some software glitch.

All I am looking for is a GPS that I can load mapsource and tracks for africa on. Plot routes and waypoints on the laptop and down load to the unit, either by micro SD cards or to internal memory. Basically I am looking or a basic GPS that won't let me down and that is easy to use.

Is there anything like that out there ?  ;D
