We have finally sorted out the system, Starcom intercom systems and Midland G-227 two way radio's, all works with standard Starcom cables and switches. After setting my wife's volume properly (after getting kakked out for 'shouting') it works quite well. We both use Arai Tour-X's which are inherently noisy, so comms at speed is quite crackly, but at slow speeds and riding closer together it is quite audible. Reasonable range is not more than 500 metres at speed, but at around 60 - 80 kph the reception is quite good. It is not easy to have a conversation but to swap riding info it is ok, ie. short to the point stuff, do you have enough fuel, lets turn off here, etc. The music is automatically muted and comes back on about 2 secs after finish of message. Expensive system but well worth it.
