Bike sound sick at 3000 RPM

My 990 sounds very sick at about 3000/3100 RPM and also jerks while constant driving at that RPM in 3rd or 4th gear. I know a KTM is not supposed to be driven that slow but there are times & places when I have to obey the speed limit and that is where the jerking and spluttering takes place. Acceleration and cruise above 3000 RPM is perfect. Had the fuel filter changed 4000 km ago.

Are there any other 990's who experience this also or is there something the matter with my bike? It's a 2012 model.
