BMW 1200 GS Starter Motor

Posting for a mate of mine ....
My mate has a 2005 BMW 1200 GS and the starter motor has gone for a ball of shyte. Is there anyone who can repair said item ...or is he doomed to buying a new one. Looks like the motor has packed up , the bendex looks fine but the motor doesn't turn.

Any advise will be helpful. ......or is that ADVICE ..... :biggrin:
