BMW F650GS cleaning/chain maintenance

quick question from someone who knows stuff-all about bikes (i know one or 2 of you are going to laugh)

on the Dakar, once you've given it a good clean, do you need to re-lube the chain?

I cleaned it yesterday, but didn't go near the chain as i'm unsure of the above, it did get plenty water and some splash from the very diluted cleaning stuff i used...

any help for me?
