Marius my sincere condolences. I have only now discovered this thread.
No words  :'(
Keep going, and take your time sir.

Fortunately for me, there were, at that stage only one family camping at Kapishya and I had the opportunity to spend some alone time on the deck and in the hot spring.

25 June 2021

It was a difficult day for me.

I had planned to walk up the hill, but I was physically tired and emotionally drained. It felt like this hole in me was getting bigger, as if a darkness had descended on me and the pain was overwhelming. I truly felt lost. What the hell was I even doing here?

I spent some time in the hot spring and took a photo of the canopy.

Some Americans had arrived and I was invited to join them for supper. It was a chilly night, but the heater in the restaurant helped.

I decided to have an early night, maybe the next day will be better.

26 June 2021

I lay in a bit before facing the day and then spending time on the deck, going through and updating my notes. These notes proved to be so influential regarding my mindset, because they reminded me of my experiences on the trip thus far, the people who I was fortunate to meet, the blessings which had been bestowed on me, and, most importantly what this was all about.

It was a little bit about me, but mostly about Brandon, and the responsible position which I had been placed in to ensure that his legacy lives on in whatever I do from this day forward.

I can do absolutely nothing about the past, only today and the future.

But, it does not diminish the pain, the sense of indescribable loss or the fear of failure, which is so much a part of being human.

Thank you for the bottom of my heart for taking the time to comment. It is truly greatly appreciated.

I had supper with Doug Baker and Delphine Liu, the Americans, the previous night. Doug just travels the world and on occasion one of his "adopted" children join him on his adventures.

I had forgotten to put this up on the 25 June post, when this happened.

While I was sitting on the deck, Delphine came up to me, all shy and demure, and handed me some notes.

The yellow underlined word had not been filled in. I took the notes and went and sat where I had sat with Brandon the previous day. After that, I asked her to fill in the word "impact". That is what I felt that Brandon would want me to have. IMPACT.

Such a young lady with such insight.

I also forgot to mention that Doug came and sat with me and we had a long chat. A caring, passionate and gentle human being. It was an honour to meet you, Doug Baker.

Back to 26 June.

Doug and Delphine were leaving, but as I was once again sitting on the deck she brought me some more notes.

I still have not filled in the blank space.

Suggestions?????

I found this raised lookout platform which takes you into the canopy and spent some time there.

Another American couple I met, they have traveled extensively. Nicely kitted Syncro.

You earn US$, Africa is your oyster.
