@ Ettienne, thanks for the organising, really enjoyed it.

Big thanks to Leon and his team for the coffee, water and the boeries, and to Peter for the training of our little group of ultra-noobs. Big thumbs-up! This time my bike made it home under it's own steam...

Once again nice to put some faces to the names seen on the forum. Thanks again, guys!

Awsome day  :thumleft:
Thanks to Ettienne, Leon and the rest who helped in making today great!

Also thanks to the guys (Masehare, Mev Masehare, Scribble, Eikeboom) for the company on the way to the training, and Scribble for the beer at my place  :thumleft:

Will see you all at next years training.  :ricky:

Thanks to all whom attended today also, Im abit tired to say the least after having to go two consecutive days, but it's lekker!
Just have one thing to add for today, Cloudgazer's bike fell over and broke a clutch lever...he then got the G450X to ride...it was almost as if everyone started kicking there levers, trying to break them ;D

Etienne, a HUGE thanks for organising  :thumleft: :thumleft: Great job on the weather arrangements too!!

The instructors did a fantastic job as per usual, and the support and assistance from the guys in the groups was wonderful!! Only complaint is that Wayne didn't teach us how to do elephant turns as promised

The last few outrides were the perfect way to end the day!!! Well done all around...

Thanks Ettienne and all other organisers for a great day! Thanks to the trainers & helpers who volunteered their time. Great meeting you all  :thumleft:
Thanks with riding with you guys there & back DSeeker & friends :thumleft:

Took only 1 photo the whole day:

It was a fantastic day for us! My girlfriend went from zero to hero within minutes :thumleft: I just hung around for rider support :)  The 230 Honda was perfect for the day(hired from Country Trax :mwink:) although she went off balance(standing still)on the outride & broke the clutch lever which put paid to the rest of the Outride. Our little girls had a blast on the PW80 & even joined for some cone weaving! ;D Dam but they looked cute!

Thanks to Leon & Lisa & the other trainers but especially to Peter0 from the BMW Club who was our instructor for the day. You gave my partner enormous confidence ...thank you! :thumleft: The Country Trax guys are just great 8)

Thanks to Daniel from Nelsons Creek for the great facility....i'm sure to buy a bottle or two of your tipple soonest ;D

Thanks Etienne. It was a great day!

I have one or two pics of the_wes on my cellphone. Will post them as soon as I can get them onto the laptop.
and I would like to apologise to him for the heckling. He's a frikkin trooper. He may be completely unable to stay on his bike but he definitely has guts ;D :thumleft:

+1, He went everywhere on the X-C while most of us were on light bikes!

Awesome day.
Huge thanks to Etienne, Leon and his instructors, and Nelson's Creek.

I dropped my bike doing the u-turn exercises and snappedthe clutch lever.
Leon instructed my to get on his 1200 GS  - I've never been on a such a big bike before, and the ffirst thing I had to do on the beast was perform the same exercise.
The size of the 1200 has alwasy intimidated me - but wow, once you're on the bike it feels amazing.

I then jumped on the BMW 450 for the outride - but alas ran out of petrol.

Other than that - awesome awesome day.

OK, you all owe me a roost.  ;)

Yesterday my wife asked what smelled so bad in the garage. It turned out it was that stinky black mud!! O0

That was some weird smelling stuff.

Especially after it cakes around the hot bits and start to bake ;D ;D ;D

I have never washed so much mud of any bike before.

At the last outride we were going through lekker muddy sections - towards the end of that there were a couple of us that were deliberately going for the most difficult looking, most 'sloppy/muddy' sections that has been dug up the most by other guys sections of mud we could find.
:D ;D

What a blast we had.

About the day itself - it is always difficult for a guy like me who has been riding gravel on bikes since I was 10 to go on something like this.

I can pretty much get my bike where ever I feel it needs to be, but (as with my self taught guitar style as well) I was sure that I either had one or two bad habits, or that at the very least that there were easier ways to do the same thing.

So that was the mindset that I had when I signed up for this.

And the day did not disappoint.
I learned two or three things that makes the style of riding that I like to do a little easier.

It also gave me a couple of pointers of things that me and Rogue will now go and practice on our own (she wasn't there, but luckily the pillion couple was with us in our group, so we got to see what the exercises are (as well as a proper explanation of each), so now we can go and practice those.
Not that we want to be faster than what we are at the moment - Rogue doesn't like to work hard on the back of the bike, but (like some of the days at the quarry have proven) - it is a good thing when you are in a tight spot to be able to apply a technique that will get you through and upright rather than have fall.

So we will get to it shortly.
:D ;D ;D

And having said all of that - even if there was no training for the day - the money we have spent on this would have been more than worth it just to spend time with fellow 'dogs and to be able to ride in places where normally you're not allowed.

What an awesome day it was.
