Howzit guys!
I am departing on a Cape to Cairo trip in 3 months. All the planning is going well but i am hitting a brick wall with the Carnet.
I need to get the indemnity letter from my bank to cover the massive deposit into Egypt (200% of the estimated vehicle value). I have phoned the AA and they assured me that they have recieved many such indemnity forms from ABSA, so i know they do sign them. I am however unable to come into contact with a single person from ABSA that even knows what a Carnet de Passage is. I keep getting sent from pillar to post on the phone and in the end still not being able to find anyone that knows what it is.
Has anyone ever gone through this with ABSA or does anyone have any advice. I am starting to lose my mind! :dousing:
