Clutch Kit

The clutch is on its way out on my 2007 F650GS Dakar. Got a quote from BMW Cape Town for parts, repair kit 21217705822 at R3170!

Is BMW my only option for spares parts locally, original or otherwise? And do I need a whole kit, can you just get new friction plates?
