Last Sunday evening, I caught The Bike Show on DSTV, the one where Donovan was ballasbakking at Silvestone. Anyway, the two Poms were ooohing and aaaahing over two Crossley's that look like British bikes, but are made in China (now I know 2SD will say German bikes too - but that's another discussion). Anyway, they were at pains to point out that there were fuel taps and CARBS on these 400cc bikes (you will note that I put CARBS in capital letters to catch your attention).
Now I need to ask a question: How the fork are the Chinese allowed to bring in motorcycles with carburetors and are aircooled, BUT the Japanese are not allowed to according to the powers that be! Both the Honda XR650L and the Suzuki DR650 while still enjoying brisk sales in both the USA and Australia, along with the Kawasaki 650 are not allowed in because of emissions etc????? Huh? Huh?
