In George we had a good brekkie at the Wimpy while Spiekman had a new front tyre and heavy duty tube fitted to the AT .....

Then it was on to the Seven passes which have dried sufficiently to make for a comfortable ride ....

There were a few muddy patches to keep us interested

As we started with Kom se pad, Spiekman found that he now had a rear puncture .....

We decided that it was best for him to return to Knysna and have the puncture fixed at a shop ....

..... so we all waited at a little bridge ....

Once they returned we turned into the spectacular Kom se pad ...

what a ride in the dense Knysna forest .....

... we finally emerged at Keurboomstrand on the N2.

All the waiting to fix the punctures meant that we were running late ....

We than headed for Natures Valley and the old R102 ....

As we emerged, the XT that Sid was riding popped off an oil pipe, that had to be refitted

Now we were seriously behind schedule and it was cold.

we raced up the N2 and turned into J'Bay and started looking for accommodation for 9 tired and cold bikers ....

Luckily the Island Vibe backpackers could put us up in dorm

The next morning we were treated with a spectacular sunrise over the bay ....

Then it was a quick pic on the beach, before we started our route towards Uitenhage and the the Zuurberg pass ...

Route for the day was Uitenhage, Zuurberg pass, Addo and then on to the Mvubu lodge just south of Alice

The first part of Zuurberg pass was beautiful and I could not understand the fuss .....

But then it became a rock festival ...... with your bike jumping all over the show .... (a few puns intended)

there were some very nice vistas from time to time ....

At least it was another box ticked

Going down the other side we stopped for a breather at Ann's Villa.

Ann's Villa is one of the country's oldest coaching inns, built in 1864 in the Eastern Cape. It is a national monument at the foot of the Zuurberg Pass.

From there we headed via Barkley East, through the Great Fishriver onto our destination for the night at the Mvubu Lodge

At Mvubu lodge we stayed in "square" rondawels  and had a very nice lounge that overlooked the Great Fishriver ....

We had a very nice braai in the boma where we discussed the approaching cold front and what it might mean for our route the next day ......

....and slept like zombies ....

Lekker!
Hier ry julle in my groot-word-wereld.

Nice, MJ. Dit vat seker so lank om te skryf omdat die gedropte BM jou so besig hou [emoji2957][emoji16]
