Day 5  and  jip it rained again … :dousing:

Target was Himeville Goxhill Trout Farm, to prepare for the one and only SANI PASS

We took the Pont over the river and once again dodged the Transkei 5 all the way up to the N2 and then on to Mtatha, were some running repairs were made to the GS800 chain and the Titanic Super 10 for a new rear tyre.

Transkei Yamaha sorted everything out in about 2 hours we were back on the road to Kokstad arriving at our accommodation around 16h00.

We took the customary thirst quenchers and then went in to town to have supper at the Himeville Arms Hotel.

Here I recruited Levi  aka RevLev on the forum.
Beer flowed and shit was spoken in copious amounts

SANI was wating ! :deal: :ricky:

Day 6  SANI here we come ! A misty morning . :thumleft:

We got going early to avoid the 4x4 rush… apparently,…. We saw none ! ::)

Everybody had that little nervous look in the eye, but kept face and looked up !

The first bit up to the border post was awash with road works and would be a snothole of note to ride when it was whet; we hit it dry and dusty…
And then through the gate , and up and up and up….the road was tricky in some places with a lot of loose stone and small step/overs, you needed to choose your line and stick to it …I had Anda on the back and it took quite a bit of concentration, and some clutch control to get the Nartjie around the switchbacks and over the rough patches.

We kept momentum and ran up the last bit to the gate with no incidents!

The other chaps kept together to help if there were any spills. HG and BV had small side stand incidents, bit were back up and in no time we were having fresh Malutis in the bar !

SANI PASS in the BUCKET ! What we actually came for.. :thumleft: :3some:

Sani lyk nou amper soos 'n highway

Day 7+8  Through Lesotho to Ladybrand.

After the ride up Sani we decided to have a beer at Afriski, as the last time we were here (2012) our time was limited and we could not visit.
The road is now tarred all the way and is spectacular over some of the passes. Last pic is a new lodge being built ,just past Oxbow... :drif:

Fuelled up in Fouriesburg and on to the bash site so we could warm up for the festivities over the weekend. :pot: :peepwall: :lol8:

The Bash..
We arrived at Little Rock and as customary first quenched the the thirst  , then went down to erect our place for the next 2 days, This place must be beautiful in the summer when rain has greened it up.

We settled and had something to eat in the restaurant.

Friday we went to town for some breakfast and some shopping, and then started to warm up for the evenings proceedings. Kark was spoken, laughter was the order of the day, and some face were put to names....

One particular indecent had us in stitches ....  :imaposer:
Colleen from Natal was recruited to speak deep namakwalands to Blinkes in a greeting that went something like this " hallo jou ou blinknaai !!" Blinkes responded with a "jiiiisssiisssss    "  we broke out and laughed so much, the bar went quiet .... :peepwall: from there on things just kept flowwing :3some:

Saturday some some babelases were being nursed, and some more beers consumed, while Anda and I went for a walk up the rise behind the camp.

The evening saw some more cajoles around the bar and fire pits, where Swifty was spotted taking a clandestine route, out of the bar to avoid the capies capturing him and feeding him wine  :peepwall: :pot: :imaposer:

We packed up on Sunday and shot through to Beaufort West over Bethulie, were we packed of for the evening braai, and some beverages.

Monday we hit the road back to Cape Town hitting a mother of a storm just out side Touwsriver, with Rain and heavy winds, arrivng back just after 13h00.

Another one done, and another number off our bucket list

Good to see all the old Wilddogs and good to meet some new members  :3some:    Where to next  :peepwall:
