A question for you clever okes here:
I had to replace the rubber boot between gearbox and swingarm.
In order to get the old rubber out and the new one in, I had to remove the rear hub so I could pull back the driveshaft far enough to get the gap for this.
I guess one could remove the entire swingarm, but that looked like more work, so I opted for the hub removal option.
After loosening the 4 bolts and pulling back the hub, a fair amount of oil came out of the swingarm.
I decided to replace the gasket between swingarm and hub before replacing the oil.
The friendly parts salesman at Bavaria recons there is no gasket between hub and swingarm, neither should there be any oil in there :-\
Can anyone enlighten me please, I am now confused?
What grade of oil should go in there (if any) ?
Should I replace the gasket - the old one looks ok'ish :thumleft: (I'm a firm believer never to re-use a gasket)
Maybe Cytech as the guy at Bavaria seems uninformed or misinformed
