My roete vir die dag. Ongelukkig wys die kaart nie daar is privaat grond wat ek nie kon deur nie.

Vroeg oggend sommer lekker koud.

Bottle trees roep hulle hom.

My partner het net 20 km saam gery op grondpad toe sê hy hy wil omdraai. Hy was al om die aarde met sy scooter, maar die ouderdom vang hom nou sê hy. Hy is toe tergna Injune.

Ek is toe in die park in en het so lekker draai gery in die ligte sand paaidtjies. Dit het later kol kol soos die Kaudum paaidtjies gelyk, net nie sulke duk sand nie.

Ek wou enitlik hier deur berge noord, maar by park kAntoor kry ek toe slegte nuus en moet terug 40 km

Injune - Carnarvon Gorge

Short ride of 140 km and then we went for a hike in the gorge. And a swim in the local rock pool

Day 4

Carnarvon gorge - Burdekin dam

My gat jeuk nou.

Ek en Garry gaan vandag opbreuk. Ek wil Vrydag in Tully wees om my bike te diens, en ek kort spasie tussen my en my vorige aand se slaap plek.

Sons opkoms oor Carnarvon park

Laaste oggend saam met Garry

Ek is versot op beeste veral as hulle op die veld mooi lyk.

Hierdie kamp was vol monsters.

So paaie loop deu plase, maar daar is selde ‘n gang so beeste loop in pad.

Kangaroos is ook vroeg ogge d en vanaf 14:30 ‘n risiko. Die mannetjie Red Kangaroo is soos ‘n 14 jarige koshuisklong size.

Massiewe areas is omgedol agter steenkool aan. Grond paaie is geteer en orals is net dumper , dozers en lowbed kombinasies besig.

Na Morunbah raak die pad genadiglik weer grond. Lekker grond. Die T7 word vir die eerstekeer in haar lewe hard gery. Ek teken elke draai in met my 18” kwas. Perfekte in en uitgangs wonde lê op elke kurwe. Die genot is groot.

Ek vind Mt. Coolah so half onverwags. Klein dorpie, soos Gouda, net hotel en baie trokke. Drink een biertjie en stoot verder noord.

Dit raak laat en die Kangoroes loop dit. Ek bevind my op skoon Windhoek -Dordabis- lughawe- Midgard in Namibië tipe paaitjies.

Day 5
Burdekin to Mission Beach

I wake up to 100 x fruit batts going crazy

Daai is nie druiwe trosse nie is jack russel grote vlêrmuise.

I wake up and start packing.

My ride starts out on glorious gravel to some tar. And then amazing gravel and jeep track

I did 68 km through the Townsville field artillery range. Road into 2 “military checkpoints “ the troepies got a lekker skrik when they witnessed the RSA flag[emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]
.

These narrow gravel tracks was winding and swooping along. The little twin was singing along for the first time in our relationship drawing perfect line with her spinning rear wheel in and out of corners. I was an artist and the D606 my brush.

I might be a fat ugly *******, but I can ride a scooter I on mildly gravel covered dirt tracks , I realised. [emoji23][emoji23]

And the …. I almost got taken out by an Ostrich Lite. Or also know as an Emu. They run horizontal when they skrik. I also skrikked.

Entering the tropics the vegetation changes and the temperature rises.
